Introduction to the world of branding irons

Branding stamps have a long history of craftsmanship and offer a unique way to permanently personalize products and artwork. Whether you're a small business owner branding your wares or a hobbyist looking to hone your craft, choosing the right stamp is crucial.

There are a variety of branding irons on the market, each designed for specific materials and applications. Electric branding irons are ideal for regular use as they provide a consistent heat and heat up quickly. Traditional branding irons, which are heated manually, offer a more authentic experience and are often the choice for artisans who value traditional techniques.

Wood:

Our branding irons reach a temperature of around 450 degrees Celsius.

This is the optimal temperature for branding wood.

Very fine, smooth woods may require less heat.

This can be reduced by a power regulator.

The power regulator is then simply inserted between the branding iron and the socket.

Leather:

Leather requires finer control of temperature during branding to avoid damage.

For almost all types of leather, a power regulator is required to reduce the temperature.

Plastic:

When branding plastic, it is important to note that it will melt when it comes into contact with a hot branding iron and will not burn on the surface like wood.

This usually results in a depression in the material.

Due to the large number of different plastics, it is not possible to determine in advance at which temperature one must work.

For plastic, a power regulator is usually required to reduce the temperature.

Of course, there are many other materials that are well suited for branding, such as felt, cardboard, fabric, paper, etc.
