What distinguishes ALK branding irons from others?

Made in Germany is key. Your branding iron is 100% manufactured in Germany. It heats up quickly and delivers sufficient power at all times – even with frequent use. All materials used are extremely durable and ensure reliable quality for many years. Truly 100% Made in Germany.

How do I find the right branding iron size?

First, select a suitable burner plate from the product list. When choosing the plate size, allow for a 1 mm margin on all sides.

Example: Burning plate 70×70 mm with a motif size of max. 68×68 mm .

Next, you select the corresponding stamp . Alternatively, you can insert type such as letters or numbers into an already milled branding plate (single line or multi-line).

I already have a branding iron from you. Can I order a new branding plate with engraving and use it myself?

Yes, this is possible with ALK branding dies . Please note that not all ALK branding plates are compatible with all ALK branding dies .

Here is an overview of our ALK branding irons and the corresponding branding plates:

  • ALK0: 30×16 mm, 25 mm round
  • ALK1N: 35×20 mm, 50×15 mm
  • ALK2N: 50×25 mm, 35 mm round
  • ALK4N: 45×40 mm, 70×35 mm, 90×20 mm, 50 mm round
  • ALK6N: 70×70mm, 75×50mm, 90×40mm, 110×30mm, 60mm round

If you would like to replace the branding plate on models in the HLP series or the S series , we recommend that you send us your branding iron so that our specialists can replace the branding plate for you .

How can I control the temperature to mark different materials?

Different materials require different heat inputs for marking: A reduced temperature protects the marking from burning (e.g., leather) or melting (e.g., plastic).

To regulate the temperature, we also offer a changeover switch . This is simply connected between the branding iron and the power outlet , allowing the heat to be controlled manually.

This allows you to mark all desired materials precisely and appropriately .

Our new regulated branding iron also ensures a precisely constant temperature , allowing each marking to be carried out in a more controlled and material-friendly manner.

How do I know if my design is suitable for a branding stamp?

You can check the feasibility of your design yourself by looking at our engraving requirements . You can view it there. You will find all the information you need for the exam.

Since 1919, our primary goal has been to provide you with the best branding tools available on the market. We are the sole manufacturer of the legendary ALK branding irons , which you may find under this or sometimes other names. Our products have been manufactured in Kiel, Northern Germany , since the beginning and sold to customers worldwide.

What makes our products so unique is the exceptionally good quality , the high wattage , and our many years of experience in stamp production.

You can use our products for the permanent marking of a wide variety of materials such as wood, plastic, leather, or cardboard. Some of our customers use ALK branding irons for marking according to international requirements, such as the IPPC standard . Others use them to mark their company logo or property . There are no limits to the creative possibilities for advertising purposes – and much more.

Our history

founding

1919

When our predecessors sat down together in 1919 to form a new company, they committed themselves to delivering the best possible quality at all times. This principle remains of utmost importance to us today, along with our other principle that good performance can only be achieved with a good team and the belief that only self-made products can be perfect.

Development

1945

Over the decades, Norddeutsche Apparatebau has been able to build up a wide range of quality products, all of which are based on electric heaters. Some of today's components are still based on the drawings from 1945. And while communication, distribution and much more have changed, ALK branding irons are as cutting edge today as they were in the early days.

Looking forward

2014

The most recent change in management took place just a short time ago (in March 2014). This was accompanied by the introduction of a modern production process, including CAD design and CNC machining , which paved the way for scaling our output in the future.

2017

In 2017, we decided to leave the increasingly limited space at the Kiel fish market. On the one hand, it was a bitter pill to swallow, as the location on the Kiel Fjord was an integral part of our history, but on the other hand, our new building enabled us to meet all of our requirements for efficient production. After just 6 months of construction, we were able to start production at the new location.
