Introduction to the world of branding irons

Branding irons have a long tradition in craftsmanship and offer a unique way to permanently personalize products and artworks. Whether you are a small business owner looking to brand your goods or a hobby artist refining your craft, choosing the right branding iron is crucial.

There are a variety of branding irons on the market, each designed for specific materials and applications. Electric branding irons are ideal for regular use, as they provide consistent heat and heat up quickly. Traditional branding irons, which are heated manually, offer a more authentic experience and are often the first choice for craftsmen who value traditional techniques.

Wood

Our branding irons reach a temperature of approximately 450 degrees Celsius.
This is the optimal temperature for branding on wood.

Very fine or smooth woods may require less heat. You can reduce this with a power regulator. The power regulator is simply plugged in between the branding iron and the socket.

Leather

Leather requires finer temperature control when branding to avoid damage. For most types of leather, you will need a power regulator to reduce the temperature accordingly.

Plastic

When branding on plastic, you should note that the material melts upon contact with the hot branding iron and – unlike wood – does not burn superficially. This usually creates a recess in the material.

Since there are many different plastics, it is not possible to determine exactly what temperature you should work with in advance. In most cases, a power regulator will also be needed here to reduce the temperature.

Other materials

Of course, there are many other materials that are well suited for branding, such as felt, cardboard, fabric, or paper.

We have already conducted tests with a wide variety of materials provided by our customers – including soap, wax, fire hoses, and many other materials.

Feel free to contact us. We will advise you individually or perform test brandings on your material
